Inghams Short Breaks -Travel Insurance

 

We offer one of the best holiday insurances available and with our many years of experience, believe it is well suited to your needs. The policy is arranged through Fogg Travel Insurance Services Ltd ('Fogg')and underwritten by Arch Insurance Company (Europe) Ltd and Union Reiseversicherung A.G., who are authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA). The full policy wording is available on request, but a brief summary of cover is given below. The full wording will in any case be sent with your holiday confirmation/invoice. Inghams is an appointed representative of Fogg.

Summary of Cover

  1. 1. Cancellation & Curtailment - up to holiday cost.
  2. 2. Medical & Repatriation - up to £5,000,000. (including Hospital Benefit - up to £600.)
  3. 3. Baggage & Money - up to £2,000. (including cash up to £250.)
  4. 4. Personal Accident - up to £25,000.
  5. 5. Missed Departure - up to £800.
  6. 6. Travel Delay - up to £100.
  7. 7. Personal Liability - up to £2,000,000.

 

Premiums.
The appropriate premium must be sent with your deposit payment and will automatically be shown on your invoice unless you confirm that you have equal or superior cover. Section 1 of the policy applies from the date of booking and therefore the insurance cannot subsequently be cancelled and the premium refunded. However if within 14 days of the issue of the invoice you advise us that this insurance cover is not suitable we will cancel the certificate and refund the premium in full.

Other General Details.
The cover is subject to conditions and exclusions normally found in this type of policy and we recommend that you read the full policy wording. The cover is subject to excesses ranging from £15 to £50, as detailed in the full policy. A 24 hour emergency service is operated by Fogg Assist for the benefit of customers taking out this cover. If necessary, emergency repatriation can be arranged. The policy is designed for permanent residents of the UK and Republic of Ireland - you should contact Fogg to enquire whether special cover can be arranged if you do not fall within this category.

Policy Document.
You should read the document carefully. It gives you full details of what is and what is not covered, and the conditions of cover.

 

Health.
Your policy contains restrictions regarding pre-existing medical problems concerning the health of the people travelling and upon other people upon whose health the trip may depend. You are advised to read your policy carefully. You must inform Fogg Travel Insurance of any pre-existing conditions. Simply call the Referral Helpline (01623) 635958 during working hours. You will be advised of the extent of cover that can be provided. You will also be given a helpline reference and confirmation will be sent to you.

 

Dangerous Sports or Pastimes.
If you are going to take part in dangerous sports or pastimes where there is a high risk of injury, check that your policy covers you.


Property claims.
These claims are paid based on the value of the goods at the time you lose them and not on a 'new for old' or replacement cost basis, unless otherwise stated in your policy.

 

Policy limits.
Most sections of the policy have limits on the amount the insurer will pay under that section. Some sections also include inner limits eg: for any one item, or for valuables in total. You are advised to check your policy if you intend taking expensive items with you.

 

Conditions, Exclusions and Warranties.
Conditions and exclusions apply to individual sections of your policy, while general conditions, exclusions and warranties will apply to the whole of your policy.


Policy excesses.
Under most sections of the policy claims will be subject to an excess. This means you will be responsible for paying the first part of the claim. The amount you have to pay is the excess.

 

Reasonable care.
You need to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property.

 

Complaints.
Your insurance policy has in it a Complaints Procedure which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint.
